UPDATED: Hello from your grader: CSC 175

UPDATE: I had missed the file-naming requirements Dr. Uludag had put forward when writing this so here is the info detailing that. The .zip file must be of the LASTNAME-FIRSTNAME-HW#.zip format. The actual files themselves must be of the HW#-Q#.* format. So as an example, your filenames should look like this:Howell-Anthony-HW1.zip HW1-q1.exe HW1-q1.cpp HW1-q1.jpg These rules are hard and need to be followed. Sorry for any confusion this might have caused. End Update. Hello there and good day to everyone in Dr.

Fallout from HW1

Well, all of the on-time submissions of HW1 have been graded and here are the results. The entire class did well with most people scoring 10/10 and the average being 9.29. The only common problems where those concerning data validation, so let's take a look at that. Data validation is the process of not only checking data for correctness, but also of correcting incorrect data. It is not enough to just inform the user "that's bad data" and just continue on. You need to ask for them to re-enter that data.

Hello from your grader: CSC 275

Hello to all students in Dr. Hick's CSC 275 class. My name is Anthony Howell II. I will be grading your programs and assignments for this class. In the past I have found that there are many common mistakes made by many people. In the past I have copied and pasted short comments telling the students about their mistakes, but that wasn't always enough to help out, so I will be using this blog here to publish more extensive tips and hopefully help out those who are struggling with the class. Please feel free to post comments here but keep it clean.

Blog's Intention

Hello. I guess I can consider this my first post on my own blog (the previous doesn't count). So what is this blog, Is it a diary? No, I will not be putting up a crazy-every-day-of-my-personal-life-emo-venting-blog. This is instead where I will put up my thoughts and opinions on current events, gadgets I use, and products I develop. I myself am a Computer Science student and plan on going into software development, so the focus of this blog will be mainly in that area, but I will also be reviewing items I bump into on the web.  Who knows what will be seen here.
